I was living at 1626 Haight Street in 1968 and spent most of my evenings at The Winterland Ballroom. From the moment I heard Tim Buckley's voice I was mesmerized! I don't remember who else was on the bill one night I came to party but I looked up and spotted Tom Donahue, "Big Daddy," Tim and Janey, deep in conversation. My escort for the evening was Gary Jackson, manager of The Charlatans, so we just bopped over and chatted for quite the while as we carried on an animated conversation.
